l Heller has more than 40 years of leadership experience across a broad range of healthcare segments, with an expertise in life sciences. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of American Pharmaceutical Partners Inc. (APPI), a leading manufacturer of multi-source and branded injectable pharmaceutical products. Prior to APPI, Al worked as an operating partner with members of the current Water Street team at One Equity Partners, the private equity arm of JPMorgan. Al has also served as President of Global Renal Operations at Baxter International. In this role, he led global operations and manufacturing for the Renal and Transfusion Therapies divisions. Al began his career at G.D. Searle and during his 23 years with the company, he was promoted to numerous positions ultimately rising to the President of Searle Operations, a position in which he oversaw Searle’s integration with Pharmacia. He has also served as a member of the Monsanto and Pharmacia Management Committees. Al currently serves as Chairman of all active Capstone Development Services entities, including Long Grove Pharmaceuticals, Balmoral Medical, Orchard Medical Development and Loop Therapeutics.
